Champlain Technology Group Offers Free Wi-Fi To Northern Tier Locations

Champlain, NY- The Champlain Technology Group has made several free Wi-Fi locations available to local residents needing internet access for educational, healthcare, or professional purposes.  These Wi-Fi locations have been set up in partnership with other local businesses and agencies to make internet more available to those that may not have access where they live.  Champlain Technology Group has enabled free Wi-Fi access for community members at Borderview Grocery in Champlain, American Legion Post 912 in Rouses Point, the Town of Mooers Offices, and the Altona Volunteer Fire Department.  Champlain Technology Group is providing and maintaining the required wireless equipment for at least 60 days or until the COVID-19 crisis has subsided.

The Wi-Fi project in the Northern Tier started with a joint agreement between the Altona Volunteer Fire Department and Champlain Technology Group to provide Wi-Fi outside the fire station for students needing internet access for educational purposes.  This idea was well-received by the community.  Champlain Technology Group then approached other client partners in each of the townships serviced to find other convenient places to add free Wi-Fi.  In addition to this, Champlain Technology Group, and sister company PrimeLink, recently teamed up with Hudson Headwaters to provide Wi-Fi outside several of their facilities, including Champlain Family Health.

As COVID-19 has demonstrated, powerful and stable networks stand at the very heart of emergency response, education, business productivity and government operations. People are suddenly gathering, learning, and working online as social distancing keeps everyone physically apart. Wireless is playing an essential role in keeping everyone connected.  Champlain Technology Group is trying to help fill some of the digital gaps.

Champlain Technology Group is also providing free internet service to new households with students in grades K-12 or college who do not already have a broadband subscription. This offer is in place until June 1, 2020 and will be provided for at least 60 days. After the 60 days, customers will be charged at the market rate based on the package of their choice. Installation fees will be waived.
