Northern Tier Chamber of Commerce to Host Special Dinner
The
Champlain Telephone Company has been and still is an active member
of the Northern Tier Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber has taken part
in many community events. Past
events have been sponsoring and organizing the annual winter
carnival and the Rouses Point Circus.
This summer, the Chamber of Commerce has taken on a new
event. It is a celebration dinner for the community's involvement in
the Battle of Plattsburgh. They
will be sponsoring "The British Invasion Dinner" on
September 7th at the Rouses Point Recreation Center.
"This is an event we are proud to be a part of,"
says Pam Damour, a Chamber board member.
"We want the community to know just how important our
area was during this crucial time in our history."
Cocktails
start at 6:00 pm with dinner beginning at 6:30 pm and is open to
every one of all ages. There
will be nonstop entertainment from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
There was a poetry contest held at all of the local schools
and the winners will be announced and awards will be given at this
date. Everyone is
encouraged to wear a period costume.
If not, dinner attire is requested. This dinner shows not
only how important the Rouses Point area was in this battle but that
the Northern Tier Chamber of Commerce is still around to serve you,
the people.
