Calling Features

Key Call (Tone Dialing)
Allows the use of telephones equipped to generate tones instead of rotary dial pulses.

Speed Calling
Allows you to dial 1 or 2 digits to automatically call from 1 to 30 telephone numbers which you program or reprogram.

Three Party Conference with Transfer
Enables you to add a third party to your conversation and, if you choose, to remove yourself from the conference call while the others keep talking. Your phone is then available for incoming and outgoing calls.

Inquiry Only
Enables you to put a call on hold, call another number, and switch between the two calls.

Call Forwarding
You may choose to have calls forwarded

  • If your line is busy
  • If you do not answer within 4 rings
  • If your line is busy or if you do not answer within 4 rings
  • All calls, with no attempt to ring your line.

Call Waiting
Permits a second call to announce its presence while you are on another call. You may switch between the two calls.

Call Waiting lets you know if another call is coming in when you are on the line.  Call Waiting signals with a burst of tone to indicate another incoming call.  You can choose to ignore or acknowledge this second call.  The second calling party will hear ringing instead of a busy signal and the first caller will hear nothing.  This feature is great if you have calls you simply can't afford to miss.  Call waiting costs $2.98 a month for residential subscribers and $5.94 a month for businesses.  Call 298-2411 to sign up today.

Hot Line (Direct Connect)
Automatically dials a predetermined number when the handset is lifted.

Warm Line
Automatically dials a predetermined number if the handset has been lifted and no number dialed within a specified period of time.

Advanced Calling Features

Repeat Dialing

Repeat Dialing allows you to dial a code to have your phone continuously attempt to redial a busy number that you tried to call. When the line is free, you will be alerted with a special ringing, and a call will automatically be made. You can also use Repeat Dialing to radial the last number you called.

What Repeat Dialing does for you:

  • Eliminates the frustration of continuously radiating numbers and receiving annoying busy signals.
  • Saves time and effort. Repeat Dialing will keep dialing the number for you -- automatically -- until your call gets through.
  • You will no longer have to look up or remember the phone number during redial attempts.

Call Return

Call Return allows you to dial a code and have a call automatically returned to the last party who called or attempted to call you.

What Call Return does for you:

  • Eliminates the aggravation of rushing to the phone when you're returning from errands or in the shower only to find that the person on the other end has hung up.
  • Makes it easy to return calls that would normally be missed.

Call Trace

Call Trace allows you to automatically request a trace of an obscene, threatening or harassing call.  After receiving such a call, you simply dial a special code to have the calling party's phone number printed at the Telephone Company.

What Call Trace does for you:

  • Helps you put an end to harassing and offending calls.
  • Enhances your security and privacy.

Priority Ringing

Priority Ringing allows you to program your telephone line to ring with a special ringing pattern for all other calling numbers.  If you also have Call Waiting, you will hear a distinctive Call Waiting tone whenever someone on your list calls you while you are on the phone.

What Priority Ringing does for you:

  • Allows you to identify special and important calls.
  • Helps you to determine who's calling.

Preferred Call Forwarding

Preferred Call Forwarding allows you to create a list of phone numbers that are to be forwarded when they call you.  When you activate this service, and a call arrives from a phone number that is on your list, the call is forwarded.  All other calls will ring your phone in the normal fashion.

What Preferred Call Forwarding does for you:

  • Eliminates having to wait for important calls.  Your most important call can be forwarded to a number where they can be answered.
  • You can leave your home or office and still receive urgent calls.


Call Screening

Call Screening allows you to create a list of phone numbers from which you do not wish to receive calls. Calls from phone numbers on your list are sent to an announcement that informs the caller that you are not receiving calls at this time.

What Call Screening does for you:

  • Allows you to block calls from people with whom you do not wish to speak.
  • Enhances security and privacy.


Special Call Acceptance

Special Call Acceptance allows you to screen incoming calls by creating a list of phone numbers from which you are willing to accept calls. Calls from phone numbers not contained on your list are sent to an announcement that informs the caller that you are not receiving calls at this time.

What Special Call Acceptance does for you:

  • Enhances security and privacy by allowing only the most important calls to reach you.
  • Prevents unwanted interruptions, particularly solicitation calls.

Caller ID

Caller ID lets you see the calling party's phone number before answering a call. A special display device located on or next to your phone is required to allow you to view the calling number.

What Caller ID does for you:

  • Allows you to determine who is calling before answering or deciding to answer the phone.
  • Enhances security and helps eliminate harassing calls.
  • Your Caller ID display device can store the phone numbers of people who called, even while you were out. You can easily review these numbers and return their calls.

Cancel Call Waiting

Lets you turn off Call Waiting on important calls when you don't wish to be interrupted.

Three-Way Calling

Lets you set up three-way conference calls. Saves time and lets you bring your friends and family together.

Do Not Disturb

Prevents your phone from ringing when you don't want interruptions. Callers who know your Personal Identification Number can still ring you.

Personal Ringing

Allows your line to have up to three phone numbers, each with its own special ring. Now you can determine for whom a call is intended.
